Letters to our collectors around the world
I hope that you are all enjoying the summer even tho' the sun, the tennis and the football all seem a distant memory! We have had a busy year so far mainly due to the fact that we have relocated - to a village 4 miles down the road. Anyone who has visited our old workshop will remember that it was a bit like a rabbit warren; the new premises are laid out much better; this allows for the whole work force to work under the same roof. We've been in situ since 5th July; please note our new address and 'phone details on this letter-head.
With this letter, you will find pictures and prices of this summer's additions to the range. I hope that you will like them. I've been asked frequently of late, to produce some larger studies of our indigenous mammals – hence the otters, foxes, stag and badger. The one new item that's missing from the flyer, is a limited edition orang utan, which wasn't quite finished in time for the photographer. This has been a real labour of love, but I'm glad that I persevered; I modeled the face comparatively quickly, but the body, which is covered in individually hand-rolled "hair", took absolutely ages! This is available in either a painted or bronze finish and, when I took it recently to the Harrogate gift fair, it was very well received.
I have recently realised that this year marks the tenth anniversary of the inception of Bowbrook Studios - it hardly seems possible that a decade has passed since I sculpted my first piece for Royal Worcester. The years have flown by; who would've thought back then, that we would be the last remaining manufacturer of resin wildlife figurines, still producing solely in the UK or that we'd have 3,000 collectors in our Collector's Club or that we'd have such an attractive and easy-to-use website (- certainly not me, with my aversion to all things computer-related!). I would like to thank my staff, both past and present, for their effort and team-spirit, which has helped Bowbrook Studios to forge a reputation for producing collectable figurines of the very highest quality, and a name which is respected in this country and around the world.
I'll finish now, all that remains for me to do is to say 'Thank you' for your continuing support and to extend my usual invitations to you. Please feel free to contact us if you so wish, by e.mail, post, phone, fax etc; come and visit the new studios if you're in the area or buy our products on-line if you are having problems locating a particular piece, or stockist, in your area.
