The creation of the Barn Owl Night Shift from Bowbrook Studios Worcester, Quality wildlife sculpture

Above - Skeleton frame of one wing, the other already mapped out. Right - Areas of feathers being mapped out in rough.

Above - Feather layout on the main wing structure in preparation for detailed modelling. Right - Completed wing set into one half of the moulding case ready for casting the mould.
Having modeled the main head and body proportions the delicate and accurate feather detail is now added.
Above - A prototype base of the sculpture with the old aime and horse harness is fitted with the very delicate spiders web to ensure that the desired effect will be achieved. Right - A test wing is fitted to the owl body to ensure the correct positioning of the wings.
Above - With the aime and owl body complete, the all important leg positioning is finalised to create the sculptures landing pose. Right - Bringing all the elements of the sculpture together to check for correct posture and positioning.
